This page explains what information NovaFin stores in your browser. In short: NovaFin uses no first- or third-party cookies for advertising or tracking, which is why there is no cookie consent banner.
1. Cookies
The Service does not set cookies to operate. The measurement tools we use (Vercel Web Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights) work without cookies and without creating a persistent visitor identifier.
The hosting provider (Vercel) may use strictly technical cookies for security or load balancing at the infrastructure level. These are necessary to deliver the site and are not used to profile you.
2. Local storage (localStorage)
NovaFin uses your browser's localStorage to keep your information and preferences on your own device. This data is not sent to any server automatically and stays until you delete it.
- novafin-v2 — your entire simulation: configuration, balances, expenses, income, adjustments, goals and month-end closes.
- novafin-sync-id — a random identifier for your sync group. Only exists if you enabled sync.
- novafin-sync-key — the end-to-end encryption key for sync. Never sent to the server. Only exists if you enabled sync.
- novafin-sync-ver — the version number of the last sync, used to detect conflicts between devices.
3. How to delete this data
- From the app: use the reset option in the Settings tab, or turn off sync to remove the corresponding keys.
- From the browser: clear the site data (“Website data” / “Local storage”) for the NovaFin domain.
Note that clearing localStorage removes your simulation from that device. Export your JSON backup first if you want to keep it.
4. Third-party services

5. Changes
If we ever add a cookie that requires your consent, we will update this page and show the appropriate notice before setting it.
